OPPORTUNITY – CLEVER CLOGS CHILDCARE CLONMEL

Reporting to the Crèche Manager, the successful candidate will form
part of Clever Clogs staff team who provide childcare and pre-school
services and full daycare to the children of the staff of Clever Clogs
Childcare.

education. The Assistant Manager will have responsibility for sharing
the management duties, including the day to day running of the
crèche, and to lead and inspire the staff team with best practice
standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven,
experienced, motivated individual, with a successful track record
within the childcare sector.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS – CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

* A minimum of Fetac Level 6 in Childcare
* A minimum of 2 years in the childcare field and at least 1 year in
a Leadership Role.
* Management role within Childcare
* A strong passion for the needs and development of the individual
child
* Garda vetting clearance (if successful)
– 2 validated references
– First Aid, Manual Handling and Child Protection is an advantage

CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:

* Ability to liaise with parents, guardians and families and build
parent partnership
* Ability to line manage and supervise staff, supporting their
continuous personal development
* Communicate effectively in a clear and professional manner at all
times
* Manage and project occupancy levels
* Ability to meet targets and deadlines and manage finances within
an allocated budget.
* In depth knowledge of children’s age and stage appropriate
holistic needs and development.
* Dedicated to raising standards in Early Learning and Education and
will role model best practice to an outstanding level
* Ability to implement the company’s curriculum, demonstrating the
links between early childcare education, theory and practice in line
with the National Framework Curriculum of Aistear & Siolta.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

* To support the Manager and the staff to work in accordance with
the policies and procedures of the service and to ensure their
practices within the room are in accordance with these.
* To deputise for the manager in her absence.
* Excellent communication, meticulous record keeping (including
recording of fee’s)
* T Skills along with the ability to use the POBAL I.T portal an
advantage (PIP & HIVE /NCS portal an advantage) Full training will be
provided.
* Familiarise, maintain and update all mandatory regulations as set
out by Tusla
Ability to take responsibility to put in to affect all company
policies, procedures, health and safety/risk assessment as stipulated
in the Childcare Regulations *.
* Demonstrate effective People and Business Management skills with
the confidence and skills to cover all business aspects of the role
Lead on the development and evaluation of programmes and activities.
* Ensure observations and records of individual children’s
progress are maintained and that children’s needs and interests
identified through staff observations are reflected in planning.
* Ensure the health, safety and development needs of the children in
our care are met at all times.
* Promote and maintain positive relationships with all staff &
families.
* Motivate and support the staff team.
* Display kindness, warmth, and responsiveness to the needs of
children and parents.
* Be prompt and timely
* Weekly planning
* Documenting of curriculum
* Ensure rooms are kept clean and organised, adhering to all
Covid- * guidelines for childcare practitioners
* Flexible and willing to substitute if required
* Work as part of a team
* Perform any other reasonable duties that may be assigned from time
to time
